Standby trial lesson non-bookable flight to 2000ft
Available on weekdays (not Bank Holidays).

Designed for people who have more flexibility about when they can fly and have time during the week. A wonderful opportunity at only £85, for more pleasure why not add a second flight on the same day for an extra £58, making £143 in total.

Introductory Courses

Intro Course
An introduction to gliding
2 - 3 lessons with a total aero-tow height of 6000ft

For those who would like a more in-depth experience of soaring flight, two or three flights will give you the opportunity for more hands-on experience at the controls. If you decide that gliding is for you, there is the option of upgrading to another course.

It is also a wonderful gift of a great day out.

2 - 3 lessons with a total aero-tow height of 6000ft - £245,

IntroPlus Course
3 - 4 lessons with a total aero-tow height of 8000ft

For those who would like a more in-depth experience of soaring flight, three or four flights will give you the opportunity for more hands-on experience at the controls. If you decide that gliding is for you, there is the option of upgrading to another course.

It is also a wonderful gift of a great day out.

3 - 4 lessons with a total aero-tow height of 8000ft - £299,
Includes 3 months club membership.
So you can continue flying at club member's rates after your course.


5 Day Course
Set dates throughout the season.
With a small group of students and one or two dedicated instructors, this course is an excellent first step in learning to fly a glider and make the most of soaring flight.

Also makes a great holiday with a difference.

14 flights plus one hour in the motor glider, ground school, text book,
log book - £625
Minimum two students, maximum six.
Includes 3 months club membership.
So you can continue flying at club member's rates after your course.


Basic Course
A more flexible approach with bookable training, this package offers the same as the 5 day course but on dates of your choice.

14 flights plus one hour in the motor glider, ground school, text book, log book - £705
Includes 3 months club membership.
So you can continue flying at club member's rates after your course.


Get your Solo
If you are serious about learning to fly a glider then this is the course for you. Ideally starting with a 5 day course, to kick-start your flying, the course includes all the flying required in both gliders and motor glider to get your solo, all flying to be completed within the 12 months of your membership.

You will be able to book training slots throughout your course, either a morning afternoon or an entire day with instruction. Assuming regular flying in order to stay current, the course offers all the training required to get you to solo standard.

All training to get you solo*, ground school, text book, log book.
Includes 12 months membership - £1,995

*Assumes 56 flights. Any balance remaining after reaching solo will be credited to your account for further flying.


Conversion Training
If you have a PPL and would like to extend your flying skills with an understanding of soaring flight, this course is for you. Designed to get you solo in a glider, the course will include difference training, exploration of the flight envelope including spinning.

12 flights plus one hour in the motor glider, ground school, text book,
log book - £625 (or £520 Sept – April)

One or two pupils per instructor
Includes 3 months club membership.
So you can continue flying at club member's rates after your course.

Aerobatics Course
If you thought gliding was about going round in circles, think again.
Aerobatics in a glider offer a greater challenge and satisfaction to the pilot and an opportunity to improve handling skills, which will benefit your general flying.

The one day course at weekends consists of:
Full briefings on the flight envelope, the figures to be flown and the difference between aerobatics in power and gliders, post flight de-brief
3 aerobatics flight to 4000ft with a fully qualified aerobatics instructor
in an aerobatics glider - £360

Includes 3 months club membership.
So you can continue flying at club member's rates after your course.

Upgrades
Available from Trial Lesson and Intro Courses to the Basic Courses,
5 Day and Get your Solo course.

Flying at Club Rates
Become a member at the end of any course to fly at club members rates,
and take full advantage of the club fleet of gliders, when you are solo.


Fuel Surcharge
Flying fees may be subject to a fuel surcharge.


Important Booking Ristrictions

AGE
Normal minimum age is 14. There is no upper age limit but please be aware that the participant will need sufficient dexterity to climb into and out of a glider.

SIZE
Due to the configuration of the gliders and controls, minimum height is 5’, maximum 6’4’’. Minimum weight is 7 stone, maximum 16 stone.

HEALTH
It will not be possible for you to fly if you suffer from epilepsy, fainting or certain physical or mental disabilities. Please contact the office if you require further information.

ALCOHOL
We are not able to fly anybody who is under the influence of alcohol. The permissible levels for flying are much more stringent than for driving a car. As a simple rule, please ensure that you do not have any alcohol before flying.
