From the CFI

The Booker task week will run from Monday, 23rd July to Friday, 27th July, with the possibility of extending into the weekends if the weather is good. The format will be simple; no extra cost, briefings and competitive flying, debriefings in the bar. There will be some Duo flying available and individual troubleshooting if required. If the weather is a bit iffy then we might get in some discussions on the finer points of x-c flying. Hopefully we’ll all be too busy flying. It should be a lot of fun. If you are coming, let the office know.

Safety warning:

There have been several instances recently of gliders flying low and fast over the helicopter hangars and the tower. This is very poor airmanship and must not continue.

If you are practising a competition finish do it well clear of all the airfield buildings, parked aircraft and helicopters. No exceptions please.

The 15m Nationals will go ahead on 25th August. We need several more volunteers to run a successful competition. Please think about it. Newcomers to the club are especially welcome.

Landout Phone

You will see at the bottom of your flying statement the telephone number of the landout phone on the bus. Since the statements have been printed it has come to our attention that this phone is no longer operational, therefore the number does not work. We are actively trying to find a suitable replacement and will notify you as soon as this is in place and in full working order.

Should you, in the meantime, have the misfortune to landout, please make sure that you have an alternative number you can call if it occurs after 17:00 when the office closes.

There is a CAA approved medical examiner on Wycombe Air Park.
