What sort of weather is best for gliding? |
|
|
Ideally, a blue sky dotted with cumulous, or 'fair-weather' clouds is probably the best conditions - particularly when a cold front has just gone through leaving a ridge of high pressure in its wake. This is the sort of day that distance and speed records can be achieved. Having said that, any day that is dry, fog-free, not too windy and with a reasonably high cloudbase is flyable, particularly for training purposes |
